Quotes & pricing
Are quotes really free?
Yes. Send a photo and a few details, and we’ll reply with ideas and a price. No obligation.
How much does refinishing cost?
It depends on the size of the piece, its condition and the finish you want. Painting is usually less work than stripping to bare wood. As a rough guide: [price ranges by piece type, if Old 2 New wants to publish them].
Is the estimate in the design studio my price?
No. The build sheet shows an estimate for materials only. Labor depends on the piece, so we confirm the full price after we see photos.
Do you need a deposit?
[Deposit and payment policy]
Pickup & delivery
Is pickup and delivery really free?
Yes, for local jobs within [service area: miles or towns]. Further out, ask us and we’ll quote it.
Do I need to empty the drawers?
Please do. Remove anything inside and take off anything you want to keep, like knobs with sentimental value.
Can I drop a piece off myself?
Of course. Let us know when you’re coming and we’ll be ready to help unload.
Process & turnaround
How long will it take?
Most furniture pieces take about [typical turnaround]. Cabinets and custom builds depend on size. We give you a date with your quote.
What if you find damage once the paint comes off?
We call you before doing anything extra. You decide; no surprise charges.
Can I see progress?
Yes. We’re happy to text photos along the way. Some pieces even end up as before-and-after videos on our Facebook page (only with your OK).
Finishes & hardware
Stain or paint: which should I choose?
Stain shows the wood grain and suits solid hardwood in good shape. Paint covers patched or mixed woods and gives you any color. Two-tone (stained top, painted body) gets the best of both.
Can you match a color I already have?
Usually, yes. Bring a sample or a paint chip, or tell us the brand and color name.
Do you supply hardware, or can I bring my own?
Either. We can source hardware to match your style, reuse your originals, or fit pulls you bought yourself.
How durable is the finish?
Every piece gets a protective topcoat suited to how it will be used. Tabletops and kitchen cabinets get a harder-wearing finish.
Design studio
Are the studio colors exact?
They’re a close preview, and so are the AI ideas for your own photo. Screens vary, so we confirm with real samples before we start.
What happens to the photo I upload to the studio?
If you brush colors on yourself, the photo never leaves your browser. If you ask for AI ideas, the photo goes to our AI image provider to make the previews, and we keep it for a short time so you can send it with your quote request. Our privacy policy has the details.
What happens to a photo I upload?
In the preview, nothing leaves your browser. On the live site, a photo is only sent to us when you choose to send it with a quote request. See our privacy policy.
Buying from the shop
Can I buy a piece online?
Yes. Tap “Buy now” on any available piece and check out in a couple of minutes. Choose free local delivery or pickup at checkout.
How does reserving a piece work?
Tap “Hold it for me” and leave your number. We put it on hold, free, and text you to set up a time to see it. Nobody else can buy it while it’s held.
How long do you hold a piece?
[Hold period, e.g. 48 hours]
Can I get a shop piece in a different color?
Often, yes. Try it in the design studio and send us the build sheet.
Caring for your piece
How should I clean it?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry it right away. Avoid sprays with silicone or ammonia.
When can I use it normally?
The finish is dry when it arrives but keeps hardening for a few weeks. Use coasters and avoid heavy objects on the top for the first couple of weeks.
What if something chips?
Let us know. Small touch-ups are easy, and we keep a record of the colors used on your piece.
Still wondering?
Ask us anything.
We’re happy to answer questions before you commit to anything.
